I love fruit but not when it is dried. Still I decided to give Funky Monkey a try! See, Funky Monkey is not like your regular dried fruit. They are freeze-dried fruit! 100% natural, 100% real fruit! Plus, each 1oz bag contains 3 servings of fruit.
We got 7 different flavors: Purple Funk, MangoOJ, Carnaval Mix, Bananamon, Jivelalime, Pink Pineapple and Applemon, which is not pictured above due to being eaten before the photo shoot!
When I received our samples in the mail I was expecting juicy, chewy dried fruit. I was taken aback when I opened the bag and found seriously dried fruit! Dried, dried. Actually, every time I think of dried fruit I picture a dried apricot slice in my head…I dunno why.

This is a closeup of a Funky Monkey Snack piece! See how hollow it is inside? You can even see some crumbs on the table!! These snacks are so crunchy!! Was so not expecting that!! I almost did a double-look ala cartoons!
Funky Monkey Snacks have no added colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives and is made in Brazil! One of the big differences between Funky Monkey snacks and other freeze-dried fruits is that they use slices and pieces of fresh fruit. And since they are 100% natural, these snacks are gluten-free, certified Kosher and certified non-GMO (“genetically modified organisms”)!

My favorite was the pink pineapple! It tastes so fresh and delicious! It is like a real fruit without the juice. All the natural flavor is there! No juice, just crunch!
The only think I did not like is that some of the pieces are a bit sharp on the edges making them not suitable for young kids. A. did not care about these snacks but J. did. IT was hard telling him he couldn’t have more of these snacks after he choked on a piece. I guess he’ll have to wait until he has more teeth for these. But I know how healthy and good they are for him. So when he is old enough for them, I’ll get the snack for him!!
