Above any kind of play, we love building forts to the point where I’d like to call ourselves ‘fort junkies’. Yeah, we don’t build them a lot but when we do we go big and we all end up playing in them, Tyler and myself included! A few weeks back I was contacted by Rhino Grip™ about reviewing their tarp clips for them and I instantly pictured a fort in my head. White sheet hanging from the ceiling with cushions, pillows, blankes, stuffed animals and blankets under it! No more strings wrapped around the bathroom door handle!
But, what exactly is a Rhino Grip™? Well…I’ll show you a photo:
The Rhino Grip™ is a heavy-duty, multi-purpose tarp clip which can be used in so many ways. Made from a heavy-duty fiberglass-filled nylon material, the Rhino Grip™ performs time after time in tough conditions in dozens of applications.
So we decided to put it up to the test and see how much it can actually handle without snapping…but how? For a fort you only use sheets or blankets at the most. But that was not heavy enough so…
…we went into the garage and hung some of Tyler’s benching weights! I was surprised that the clip would actually stand 25 pounds! And that my lantern did not break.
But that was not enough…Tyler kept playing with it and before we knew it this happened:
Yeah, the Rhino Grip™ can hold 35 pounds!! I am sure it can hold many more pounds problem is I don’t really think there’s a lot of stuff in my house that I could hang the Rhino Grip™ on without said thing breaking or coming off the wall/ceiling!
And it is so easy to use! Simply place the material between the teeth, twist down to clamo the clip on to the material, attach rope, cord or webbing to clip and hang your Rhino Grip™. And when you are down using it, simply do the instructions backwards!
We showed it to Grandpa and he loved it! He raved about how many uses it has and how much simpler tasks could be with a Rhino Grip™! He is a contractor and loves to go camping and fishing, so he must know a thing or two that I don’t know!
But since I haven’t gone camping in quite some time and fish dislike me to no avail (never had any luck fishing) I stuck to my fort building.
The Rhino Grip™ can get hooked on anything you can think off and comes in handy when there’s not enough sheet to wrap around a drawer handle or to clamp the sheet together around a rail, like we did with J.’s crib.
We have built forts in the living room before but since everything is so far apart from the fort we had to bring a kitchen stool and wrap it with the sheet which used most of the sheet. This time around we used the Rhino Grip™ to hold the sheet from under the ottoman, which still used a bit of extra sheet but it was way better. Only problem was the jumping dog! Scratch decided to join in the fun and he jumped on the roof of the fort making it collapse! The Rhino Grip™ worked just as promised and did not let go off the sheet or where ever they where hooked on to…it was the furniture’s fault. The ottoman flipped over and the surround system stand almost falls on my head!
This is the famous fort I talked about on my Soldiers post! Tyler made it all by himself, fort and staging. He is such a kid!! As you can see the Rhino Grip can be attached to almost anything!! I forgot to snap a photo of the clip attached to the table…oops!! But I had to prioritize and do a photo shoot with the army men!
