{Video} B. Toys Okideoke {Review}

My boys love toys. What kid doesn’t!? While they love cars and balls I prefer to give them toys that will spark their creativity and imagination. Not that their cars don’t do this. It’s been a couple of times that I’ve seen A. playing with his cars and making a stop at his sippy cup which worked as a coffee shop! Every car would stop and ask for juice and cookies!

B. toys has fast become a favorite of mine. What sets them appart is that they create toys that inspire individuality.

The look, feel and function are inspired by the world around us. By our children’s faces. Our dreams. Our own childhoods. Our travels. By Peruvian textiles and New England foliage. By a pretty bar of soap that gave us a moment of delight. You’ll notice even our packaging feels a little different, both in your hands and to the Earth.*

B. toys sent us their Okideoke which is a fantastic addition to my boys’ toy collection (and no, they don’t have that many toys…maybe one too many cars).

Anything worth saying is worth saying louder.*

The Okideoke was an instant hit with A. He loves attention and will do whatever it takes to have people watch him. He sings and dances and this microphone does exactly that! It helps him be creative and imaginative as he belts out random songs about daddy being gone and having to come back home soon! Or how about that song about his lunch?!

J. is the shy one. The boys who doesn’t care about being loud and the center of attention. The boy who would prefer to build and climb. Yup, that’s him! He liked the Okideoke but not as much as A. but he still belted a few high pitched notes.

What makes this mic so amazing is that not only does it amplify their voice (which at times is a curse, man can little voices be so high pitched) or that it comes with 8 pre recorded tunes is that you can record your voice and play it over and over and over again!! Which can get a tad tedious for us grown ups but is so much worth it when you look down and see their eyes light up as they randomly sing and dance around the coffee table!

{Make sure to see the entire video! A. gives us a heavy metal rendition to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!}

If you know or have a kid that loves to sing and/or dance this is the perfect toy for them! Truly recommend it.

We want to be a voice to children that says it’s okay to be curious, to be pensive, to be loud, to be happy and sad all at the same time, to be generous, to be afraid, to be quiet, to be wild, to be fun, to be open, to be scientific, to be poetic, to be giddy, to be serious, to be smart, to be free, to be you.
Just B. Just you. B. you”*
