Back in Portland we had a patio but lacked a grassed area. Now, in Parker, we lack a patio since we are on the 3rd floor (for the time being). So there goes the backyard as well…still Mister Scratch has to be walked twice a day: first thing in the morning after I get up and right after the boys go to bed. He whines and sits like a person and begs with his two front legs while staring at you with sad eyes. To be honest, it can be quite pathetic at times!
Before we got the chance to review Ruff Grip‘s amazing dog leashes I’d walk Scratch using a short black leash that I had to wrap around my hand to keep Scratch from pulling me.
I must say that I never thought I would ever have a favorite dog leash! But now I do! Ruff Grip sent us their 6 foot 3/4″ wide dog leash and I love it!!
When I opened the package after it came in the mail it smelled just like (fresh?) leather. I thought that was awesome! But I am a silly one. And like Ruff Grip describes this leash:
The last leash you may ever own. Wet or dry, your hands won’t slip. No more leash burn. Will not crack or get stiff in extreme cold temperatures.
I agree 100% on this one! Not only is it long enough for when Scratch decides he ahs to go to the very far end of a yard to go do his business (he prefers to hide number 2 in tall grass). There is no need for me to tag along while he goes.
What sold me was the easy grip of the leash. The black stripe running along the middles is sewn elastic that makes it easy to hold on to. Plus it has quite a few, hmm, lets call them stoppers that you can grab on to and no matter how hard puppy pulls it won’t slide off your hand.
The quality is superb. I am pretty sure this will be a leash for the ages that will surely be passed down to my kids once they beg us for their own dog (wich of course they’ll have to take care of, poop included). Once we get another puppy, which we will once we buy a house here in Colorado, I will be getting our pup a Ruff Grip leash! I might also get a shorter one to keep Scratch from trying to walk me instead.
Only cons from a long leash…
…well, it was bound to happen!! Got wrapped and thankfully he did not decide to take off! I could totally see him running off and my legs flipping off from the ground and there she goes…timber!! But hey, this happened with our old leash. I even got burnt with it thanks to a cat who jumped infront of us causing Scratch to take off as I was trying to untangle the leash after Scratch ran around a tree like 3 times!
