Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce -Review/Giveaway CLOSED

In 1968 Country Bob perfected the sauce of his dreams. After years of giving the sauce to friends and family he began to sell it in 1977. The reaction was overwhelming just as it is today. Almost everyone who tries Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce becomes a lifelong user. And why not, it is the perfect complement to practically any meal set on your table.

And I couldn’t agree more! Al, from Country Bob’s, gave me the opportunity to try their all purpose sauce. We love to BBQ at home when the weather allows, and since we live in Portland we have to really take advantage of good weather, right?

This opportunity called for a family get together. Along came my mother in law, her husband (we’ll call them Grandma and Grandpa) to try the sauce.

The first impression among us all was that based solely on the bottle, we wouldn’t have bought it. The bottle needs better marketing.

My husband then decided to open the bottle and dabbed some sauce on his finger. His eyes popped out! And this was a good sign!

The sauce is liquidy and milds after cooking. It has a tangy flavor which reminded us to the A1 sauce. So, if you are not a big fan of A1 sauce you might not like Country Bob’s either.

It smelled oh so good when the chicken was done grilling! We couldn’t wait to try it. Once we all took our first bite it went quiet. Until Grandma said out loud “Oh, yeah! This is goooood!”. She liked the “clovey yet Worcestershire flavor”. Grandpa thought it was OK and that he would definitely try it again but that the company has to work on the bottle marketing.

Ty liked it better out of the bottle (he is an A1 fanatic) but still enjoyed the chicken. He told me that it tastes better than he thought it was going to, so he gave it kudos.

My opinion? I loved it! I am all for BBQ sauces and this one is sweet but not too sweet. Last night we had it as a dipping sauce for chicken (we are chicken lovers here) and it has this spicy flavor which I really liked.

Conclusion. TOTAL HIT! I mean, Grandma took my second bottle! And extra points for Country Bob’s for making this sauce all natural and gluten free, which is extremely important to us since Grandma has Celiac Disease (meaning, she is extremely allergic to wheat, rye and whey).
