Jumping In! {#NaBloPoMo}

A lot has changed around our neck of the woods in the past 5 weeks. Just recently we decided to move back home, back to the Northwest. This move came after 8 months in Colorado but was happily welcomed.

The weather is gloomy but jumping back into Northwest waters has been a great change for us! The boys will grow up with their only cousins. The Byrd boys will all go to school together and hopefully play sports together.

Every Saturday we have our friends over for dinner and play games. Good food, great wine, and greater company. What else could one ask for?

This move has brought something back to us. I am a fully time stay at home mom again! I am back home to see them play, hear them scream, dance with them. We paint and hang out. We are planning on camping on the backyard as soon as the skies clear. We make forts. We make messes. We bake and eat half the dough.

Sometimes I do get overwhelmed with all the loudness and being tugged in two different directions. But most days are good.

And as I type this in the middle of a quiet house with train tracks all over the living room I feel so thankful for jumping into change.

What is something you recently jumped into?

    Being a mom is the BEST – and staying home to watch the daily growth is amazing. Earlier this year, I read “The Happiness Project” – a line from the book has stayed with me: The days are long, but the years are short. I remind myself that every time I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

      Thanks for the book quote!! I will have to keep it in eyesight around my house somewhere…I sometimes forget that indeed the years are short….

      I never got along with my cousins so I never thought it was a must for my kids but I must say that it is great thing for them to have. They love it!

    Your photography is amazing!

    My daughter doesn’t see her two cousins very often. We live in TN. One of her cousins lives in Louisiana, and the other lives in Arizona.
