I’ve always liked to decorate. It is an extension of who I am. I do not have a specific style, I am more of the eclectic type. You know, a little bit of everything and tons of clutter. I like a room that feels lived in.
Since we moved I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my walls. Painting the walls is out of the question. We have two African masks in one of our entry walls, a yellow poster with two dancing guys, and Ty’s favorite wine bottle holders (which are just for looks since the sun hits that walls all day long and well you really don’t want hot wine, right?).
Still there are tons of empty walls.
Hello Canvas to the rescue! We got the opportunity of reviewing one of their canvases and I am truly in love with it!!
We got the canvas above for the review. Why a black and white shot? Well, it was pretty close to being Father’s Day and we have never celebrated it for Ty so I let him choose a photo to use. In his own words, “don’t choose a photo fo the boys, lets go with one of your old photos from Portland or Denver”. Not really helpful since I have around 138.64 GBs of photographs alone.
The photo we picked is from an abandoned factory somewhere in the Gorge in Oregon. We were wine tasting through the Fruit Loop and I simply had to snap a few shots of that place. Of course Tyler decided that he wanted the photo to be black and white with a splash or orange. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the photo.
The process is super easy and fast. All there is to it is choose your photo and how you want your image framed (which areas to be wrapped around the canvas’ wooden frame). I did encounter two problems:
1) Choose the photo you want. Specially if you have tons of photos like I do and you want to showcase them all…took me about an hour to choose my top 5…and another 30 minutes to choose the winner!!
2) Being patient while waiting for your canvas to arrive, standing by the door and looking like a crazy person every time the UPS truck drove by….
The canvas was soon to arrive and made it just in time for Father’s Day. The final result is exquisit. The image is crisp and high quality. You can see every speckle of dirt on my image as if you were at that factory the day I took the photo. Simply perfect! Oh and for those wondering, the canvas is sooooo soft. I may or may not have had to rub my hands on it….simply had to, or not.
Can’t honestly say that all my decor conundrums have been resolved. But it is awesome to be able to put a photo on canvas and display it at home for everyone to see!
This canvas has made its way all through the house and it still hasn’t found a wall to call home. But we are a step closer to decorated walls! And by the looks of it this canvas might make its way to the hub’s office (as soon as he finds one). It is his canvas after all!
