Coming Home

From PDX with Love // Coming Home

After two long weekend spent in lovely Seattle there is nothing else I Wanted more than to comeback home. Yes, Seattle was lovely, soggy even. And yes, the company was wonderful, but coming home is always nice and relaxing.

We left early Friday on our way to Grandma’s place in downtown Seattle. We arrived at lunch time and ate at this Mexican place. The food was bland and over priced. But we were hungry; sometimes you have to do what you have to do, right?

The big boys left to Longview to go hunting with (their ) Uncle Jeff as the little boys and I stayed with Grandma. The weekend looked promising. We geared up with our raining boots since it was supposed to rain all weekend long (this is what happens when I check the Weather Underground website for the weather report). It did rain…but we missed it by a few seconds! Oh well. At least we got a kick out of little J. wearing two different boots from two different pairs! At least he got the correct boot sides!

Saturday we meant to go to the Children’s Museum but instead ran a few quick errands and headed back home. Who would have thought that a Tetanus shot would knock you out for a whole day! Thankfully Grandma is doing much better! Besides, the museum will be there next time we visit.

Sunday, I got my contacts (yei!) and we stayed home and watched movies and enjoyed some good snacks and great company.

I did not get a chance to take as many photographs as I would have loved to. It is sad but between a busted knee from walking up and down hill downton Seattle while pushing a boy in his stroller, while trying to avoid people and the rain, well, it was practically impossible to stop and photograph the roses!

But I did get a few shots:

Pike’s Market is a must stop on your visit to Seattle. I mean, you seriously have to come see the guys yelling and throwing fish at each other!! Plus, the market is pretty cool (and crowded) as well. The very first Starbucks store is on this road (right across the road from the market) and it is always busy and the line goes on forever!!

On the second photo: I simply had to photograph visitors taking a photo of the sign!! It is so easy to spot the out-of-towners!

All Seattleites will recognize these steps!! My mother in law lives in the building where these water steps are!! She lives right in the center of downtown!

Sometimes the unplanned photos are my best!! I truly love these last two shots. I think it is due to the bokeh, or I might be biased. But they are two of my favorites.

To see all my photos from both our Seattle trips head on over to my Google+ account! And while you are there, send me a shout out!

Which is your favorite place to visit?

I didn’t realize that Seattle was your hometown. That is great. We are about an hour north of Seattle. I love it. Washington is always been my home and though we travel all over the country (we are currently in Indiana) there is no place like home!

Heading to Google+ to see more photos!

I always love your pictures so much Sophia! They make you want to be there with you at every shot! I have never been to Seattle but heard it is worth the visit. I love going to a cottage or chalet.. the peace and quiet I get over there is always so pleasant! But coming home is, I agree, so nice and makes you say aaaaaaaahhhhhhh! 🙂
