Even though I am not the greenest of people, I do try my best to use alternative green products that are not only beter for my family but for the planet as well. Recently I got the opportunity of trying a few products from Walgreens new line of green products: Ology.
The Ology line of green products includes a little bit of everything:
- Baby lotion
- Baby 2-in-1 body wash
- Fabric softener
- Laundry detergent
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- All-purpose cleaner
- Glass cleaner
- Paper towels
- Facial tissues
- Toiler paper
- 100% free-tree printer paper
- CFL light bulbs
Being that we rarely use facial tissues (we have had a brand new, unused, box in the car for close to a year now), just changed the light bulbs all over the house, our printer is out of ink, I am very particular about my shampoo and conditioner, and my boys are not babies anymore, this is what I chose to try out:
Ology: fabric softener
The fabric softener comes in two scents: scentless and lavender & vanilla. Of couse, being that I love my clothes to smell good, I decided to got with the lavender & vanilla. The smell is alright in the bottle, but it is way better on my towels, yumms!
The Ology fabric softener not only makes your towels smell good, it soften and even reduces static. This softener will not be saved for my towels, specifically for that little rag that clings to the wall, just like a balloon.
Ingredients: water, methyl bis (canola amidoethyl) -2- hydroxyethyl ammonium methyl sulfate, natural fragrance and sodium propionate.
- no dyes, artificial fragrances or phosphates
- no chlorine bleach or formaldehyde
- no animal testing
- bottle made from 100% post-consumer materials
- 33 loads
Price: $6.99
Ology: all-purpose cleaner and glass cleaner
Glass Cleaner
The glass cleaner, with all honesty, was the product I liked the least. It does what it promises: it gives your windows a glossy streak-free finish. So, why did I not like it? Well, it was all on the smell. Although it does say it has no fragrances the very first time I squirted it its smell reminded me of white glue. It did leave my window looking glossy and streak-free.
Then I moved on to the big challenge: my bedroom’s standing mirror (the favorite of every single kid that has ever come into my house). With sticky fingers and all, the Ology glass cleaner worked wonders. But this time it had a hint of vinegar. It might just be that I have had an on-and-off migraine for the past week and my sniffer is not working, but I cannot stand the smell.
All in all, it works as promised and there is no smell residue.
Ingredients: water, acetic acid, sodium coco-sulfate, lauryl glucoside and cocamidopropylamine oxide.
- no dyes or ammonia
- no harsh solvents or artificial fragrances
- no animal testing
- bottle made from 100% post-consumer materials
Price: $3.99
All-purpose Cleaner
This was my utmost favorite from the 3 products I got to review. This Ology all-purpose cleaner is amazing! It cuts through grease and grime and is now my to-go-to cleaner when I have to clean my microwave and stove after every time we cook bacon! It works great and there is no need to spray and clean the surfaces twice. I am in love with this cleaner.
The smell is good too: meyer lemon and lavender, ahhhh! I can honestly see myself being 100% loyal to this cleaner. Walgreens and Ology: you’ve got a fan on me!
