Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

I must confess that I did not watch the Oscars on Sunday…actually I even forgot it was on that day. Instead, I was playing Pinochle (trying at least). But of course the best and worst dressed and all sort of gossip are all over the place now. So, after going though thousands of posts on Tumblr on the Oscars I decided to make my very own Best Dressed list! And at the very bottom I also added my Worst Dressed (only 3 of them).

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

Oscars 2013: Best DressedJennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. The big winner of the night, falling up the stairs or not! I seriously love this girl. She is so down to earth and laid back. I hope she stays the same down the road. She is the kind of role model that girls should look up to (and not that Taylor girl…but she is a whole other story).

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

I love everything about this dress. The strapless neckline and bodice contrast the voluminous and dramatic skirt. With a skirt like that I would have fallen too! HEr hair and accessories was simple but they added a great touch of sparkle to the whole look.

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen. She called this dress: ”The one from the very beginning,” and I would have chosen the same dress given the opportunity to! Simply stunning and elegant. Love the pale colors and embroidery. The hair was simple as so was her makeup. She looks gorgeous.

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

Naomi Watts in Armani Privé. Naomi looked amazing in this princess silhouette dress. This is one dress I wouldn’t mind owning. I don’t really have anywhere to wear it…I might just walk around the house in it as I dust, or something. Oh, and we can’t forget the accessories and hair: both perfect!! Messy buns and simple earrings that did not fight for attention, but rather added glamour to it.

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

Samantha Barks In Valentino. I became a huge fan of hers after seeing her in Les Miserables. Her previous red carpet looks never did impress me much. At times the dress choice was great but the hair did not help. But at the Oscars she looks amazing! Yes, the dress is black and pretty basic, but that plunging neckline and her choice of necklace made the look. She has a long career ahead of her.

Oscars 2013: best dressed

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta. As I looked through all the dresses I kept coming back to Amy’s dress. I sort or liked it and sort of didn’t. It took some warming up to ti but now I love it. The hair and the jewelry were all great choices that added extra wow facotr to the dress. Very elegant and stunning. Certainly looks the part of an Oscar nominated actor.

Oscars 2013: Worst Dressed

Oscars 2013: Worst Dressed

Melissa McCarthy in David Meister. I would lie to you if I were to say this look made it to my worst dressed list due to her body type and weight, because it does. Before you say anything…due to her weight this dress was a huge mistake. To begin with, it makes her look shorter than she is. Plus, it looks a size or two bigger; there is so much fabric that is just hanging there. The long sleeves and extra details on the dress did not help at all. And let’s not talk about the hair (she should have added a headband like Maria Menounos did).

Oscars 2013: Worst Dressed

Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli. I did not like this overall look at all. It might have been better if it weren’t for her hair! It just bugs me. It is way too long (doubt it is all hers). I do like the dress and earrings combo though. Just, change the hair.

At least we can see Naomi Watt’s dress from behind!

Oscars 2013: Worst Dressed

Giuliana Rancic In Rafael Cennamo. Giuliana and Kelly where there to cover the red carpet event but she should have chosen a different dress. It is just too prom-y looking for me. The hair felt flat and the makeup was horrible. She has had better looks. This was just not it, at all!

Which was your favorite Oscars look? Least favorite?

I love Julia Rancic’s dress. I have to say that Melissa’s was not the least bit flattering for her.

I did not watch the Oscars-never do actually–from the choices you so graciously showed us I liked Amanda Seyfried’s dress the best–I must say that if they were really expecting to win an Oscar they ALL should have ditched the trains!! It is no wonder Jennifer Lawrence fell up the stairs-any one of them would have. I agree with you about Melissa McCarthy’s dress-not flattering in the least

some of these gowns are beautiful while other are not very modest and show way to much! The 1st one looks like a wedding gown! I cannot imagine the money they spend on these gowns!

Everyone was dressed so beautifully it’s tough to choose favorites but I did love the pop of color and style of Jennifer Aniston’s dress. It was nice to see among all of the pale and muted colors.

I actually like Anne Hathaways dress, although she was widely criticized for it. I’m just so glad she won — what a stellar performance!!

I liked Jennifer Chastain’s dress. I am a big Melissa McCarthy fan, but I didn’t like the dress or hair either. She has worn much better.
