I Vow To: Dress Up at Least 3 Times a Week

Why so serious?Being a stay at home mom I find it more comfortable to wear my pajamas most of the time. Having two boys is managed easier in comfortable gear; there’s jumping, hot wheels, throwing the boys on the bed, doggy-dog pile (mostly on mom), and even some boxing involved.

At times the days feel slow and gloomy even when the sun shines bright up in the sky. I have read, somewhere, that getting dressed up for the day will brighten your spirit. A few months back I decided to take note of this. I have improved my homely fashion choices from sweatpants to jeans but it is still not enough.

So…I have made a vow:

Dress Up at Least 3 Times a Week

This will include hair, makeup, outfit, accessories, and even a perfect pair of socks (we don’t wear shoes inside the house).

Black and Coral{shirt: Urban Outfitters // black undershirt: wet seal // leggings: c/o Chicnova // shoes: forever 21 // infinity scarf: gift // earrings: from my mom}

The sun was shinning bright on my face…odd day in Bellingham.

Black and CoralBag and Lion bracelet{lion bracelet: ZooShoo; out of stock, similar in silver // golden bracelet: won // bag: c/o Chicnova}

Even though the further we got from home was our backyard I decided to pose with my new bag (more on it next week!). It simply completed the look. Plus, the pink details matched my new coral shirt. So not planned! Gotta love when things just fall into place.

Dressing up definitely made me feel productive. I can easily get used to dressing up, even for myself, my boys, and my mirror.

Would you make the vow?
Would you promise to dress up at least 3 times a week?

    Okay so this is CRAZY…I have been following you via Twitter for I don’t even know how long? Anyway I see this post on twitter today about the outfits and dressing up. Well I just posted the other day about how I prefer to wear dresses or skirts with my leggings than even jeans…I think it is more comfy. 😉 So I click on your link from twitter and what do I see? The sun was shining in your eyes all day in BELLINGHAM!!!!! Um…how crazy. I live in Everson but, I shop, go to dinner and movies, attend church and pretty much EVERYTHING in Bellingham….:) Can we say Barnes and Noble or Woods Coffee? Ha. I will be checking you our via face book too. Nice to know a fellow PNW. 🙂

      Hey!! Thanks for stopping by! Skirts and dresses are becoming my favorite (even over jeans). I just have to be very careful that my boys don’t decide to play with my skirts when out in public…yikes!

      Where do you guys go to church? Barnes and Nobles on Meridian (I live close!).

      Oh, and I am on my way to check out your blog!!

    no matter what you wear, jammies, or leggings and a top, you look great for having 2 boys! and you are more ambitious then me, I go to work in the most comfortable clothing I can find, and lots of times I curse the employee who showed up on night shift wearing pj pants because she ruined it for the rest of us, now that that is in style LOL

      Aww, thanks, Nancy!! 🙂 I do like comfy clothes!! There is no way I would ever wear something that makes me feel uncomfortable. That is why I still walk around my house in my sweatpants! Hehe

    I like your choice of outfit, looks really nice all together. I have little choice but to always dress up because of my job but right when I come home I jump into my loungewear.

    That sounds like a big vow. I’ll compromise and vow to dress up at least 2 days a week

    Dressing up always makes me feel good, too!

    I love that outfit! I need to make a goal like this too! Too often I’m complacent and allow myself to stay in PJs most of the day if I’m not required to leave the house. This should change.
