Brotherly Love

I am the second among 4 kids in my family (I am the middle kid, there’s 3 girls and 1 boy: older sister, me, brother, little sister, so I am the middle girl, sometimes sucked). And all of you who have siblings know that sibling rivalry is real.

I always thought it was going to take longer for this to happen. It only took 9 months. But I guess that’s what happens when the older brother is always on the baby boy’s face! A has always been trying to wrestle J and box with him and he tends to be a pill to him. I knew J was going to figure it out someday, never though it was going to be today!!

So what happened?

A loves for me to play with him and his cars but he won’t let J play as well. We were all by the couch, trucks and hot wheels cars on the couch and some on the floor. J dared to touch one of A’s cars and it happened. A got on J’s face telling him ‘no, no touch’ and J, completely upset and heart broken, smacked A on the head/face over and over as A was still working on his sermon. J just wouldn’t take any of it!

I was so surprised and so proud of J. I mean, he, at 9 months old, was defending him self! Forget it was a fight with his brother, my jaw dropped and I smiled! There’s kids who are way older than J and they just don’t know how to defend themselves and when something happens to them they break into pieces. But not my boys! Mess with them, you’ll pay.

To some it might sound too violent and that there are other ways to work things out. But this is my 9 month old boy getting into his 2 year old brother’s face!

.

This is what it looked like!! Just imagine tons of cars and trucks surrounding them!

I can commiserate … my sons are 19 & 17 years old and they still fight. But my kids are definitely not cute when they fight. Sibling rivalry seemed to start even before we brought the second one home from the hospital. FUN WOW!

We have 4 girls then 2 boys, I had no idea that the doubled up fist and full arm swing was genetic in males! The girls were way too much drama and the boys were peaceful till they turned 6 and 8. They have gotten it under control now as 8 and 10.
