Keep Little Feet Cool in Spring/Summer School Shoes

While winter might have seen your little ones protected from the elements in boots and bulky shoes, the arrival of the spring/summer term might mean lightening the load in school shoes more suited to the warmer weather.

It’s normal to buy a new pair of school shoes in the summer holidays, for the start of a new school year, but why not put a spring in your little scholars step a little early with one of the following school shoe styles, perfect for wearing up to the end of the year and then again into autumn?

Spring/Summer School Shoes

The Ballerina Shoe

The ballerina style school shoe is sure to be a popular choice with girls. The open nature of the shoe means cooler and fresher feet for summer, while the ballerina style will put them at the front of the fashion pack.

Older girls will like the Buckle Strap School Shoes from £12.50 at George, whereas younger girls may feel more secure with a thin strap. In that case, the Bow Ballerina School Shoes mix prettiness with practicality, perfectly.

Mary-Janes

Mary-Jane style school shoes are ideal for younger girls who need a bit more support than a ballet shoe offers.

Let your little princess choose from Heart or Flower detail shoes, available at George for just £10, or, to let her feet breathe easier in the Leather Bow Trim Shoes, £15.

Trainer Style

Warmer weather often means more time spent outdoor when in school, whether that’s just during playtimes or whether your child will be taking some lessons outdoors. They may also be taking more excursions from school – either local walking trips or school trips further afield.

Trainer style school shoes are ideal for a more active term, ensuring that your child is comfortable in flexible shoes that are great for walking, running and playing in, even better if they’re waterproof shoes that you can easy find online. The trainer style ‘School Z Strap Shoes’ are a fantastic George buy from just £12.50.

Loafers

Older boys may like to wear a more formal loafer style for a fashionable look and, without the rain, cold and snow to keep out, they can during warmer months. You’ll find this style of shoe, with a breathable leather upper, from just £15 at George.

Sandals

There’s nothing nicer than the fresh feeling of wearing sandals in summer, and they look great with summer school dresses and shorts. Before you buy, be sure to check the school’s policy regarding footwear, and, if sandals are allowed, choose a multi strap style with a closed back for maximum support for little feet.

The Bow Strappy Sandals in white are a great example for girls, for just £6 – and will look sweet with gingham style summer school dresses. For boys, the Sporty Strap Sandals are sturdy and will stand up to even boisterous play.

With school shoes for under £10 at George, you can afford to treat your little one’s feet to some summer style shoes, for fresher, happier feet.

I buy my daughter more then a couple pairs of shoes during the school year. She loves all shoes! She is really into ballerina shoes and just starting to get into sandals now that it’s spring. It’s like an addiction.
