It would be an understatement for me to say that I am currently obsessed with O’Malley. I think it has crossed the point of obsession. But it is a healthy obsession; I just love my boy!
A few days back I read a post about Pet Personalities over at Bitchy Words and I have to agree with Sandy, pets do have their own personalities. Even though our kitten is just 10 weeks old (he will be 11 weeks tomorrow), he is already starting to show some of his personality.
O’Malley is such a character. For one, he is a goof ball. He does that pouncing moves at random. He could seriously be walking to the couch and he will start pouncing. Haven’t seen it, but I am sure he has a huge smile on his face whenever he is in goof-ball-mode.
- Wrestling: he will go the extra mile to wrestle your fingers, toes, anything he can get his paws and teeth on. But he is so gentle about it. He only claws you when he wants to climb your legs (ouch!). And his teeth, well, it only hurts when he bites sensible areas…or ticklish areas, like my toes.
- Sleeping: see the picture above? He fell asleep while trying to subdue one of my fingers. And he just froze in place for good 20 minutes. Oh, and when we are not home he usually sleeps. His favorite spot? My husband’s side of the closet!
- Sneaking up on you: this has to be the silliest thing I have ever seen a cat do. He will start meow-ing, calling for you. So you walk towards where he is and as soon as your feet are at close rang, BAM! he has your ankles on a deadlock! And then he takes off running.
We can’t forget that he also thinks my computer is his! Boy will sit on my laptop every time I am trying to get some work done. I guess the heat coming from under the keyboard feels good…but do you know how many comments, emails, and posts I have had to rewrite because it just made no sense!? Maybe I should get him his very own Twitter account…and then he can share his thoughts with everyone. They go something like “//////////111111333333vvvvv” while he rocks out to whatever is on my iTunes.
Oh, and I cannot forget to share that he is the Defender of the Litter Box. It doesn’t matter if he is sleeping as soon as I start cleaning his litter box he is there in a flash. Whatever he has hidden is his treasure and makes such a fuss when I try to clean his litter box. He will literally scraped it off the scoop thing and hide it again.
Ever since the first day I showed him the window (photo above) he just loves to sit there and enjoy the cool breeze (whenever there is one to enjoy). Our road is not busy so he doesn’t stay there for too long. He has also made the blue blanket his. It belonged to A. but now it is O’Malley’s.
But I am not the only one obsessed with O’Malley. Oh no. The boys both call him O’Mawey (sounds way cuter than O’Malley, doesn’t it?) and they love him to pieces. Which also translates to let’s hold the cat all day long; who cares is you are holding the cat head down as long as you are holding him.
Wouldn’t you be obsessed with such a cutie too?!
What are you obsessing over this week?
