Novica has always been one of my top brands I hoped to work with. So imagine the squeal of joy heard about my house when I received an email from Novica asking if I would like to work together on a review or a review and giveaway. Should I play hard to get? Yeah, so NOT happening!! Of course I said yes right away (typing with one hand while doing a silly dance).
I got the opportunity of choosing anything from their website which was a hard task to take. Have you ever been to the Novica website? Everything in there is beautiful! For every single item I saw I would picture it hanging in my closet, or sitting on my mantel or my kitchen counters. I found this beautiful pair of Garnet Dangle Earrings and Amber Earrings but at the end settled on a beautiful set of Handblown Tumblers.
These beautiful Cobalt Tumblers remind me of home. Yup, these tumblers are proudly made in Mexico. They remind me of visiting Tonala and Tlaquepaque with my family; enjoying a nice day, enjoy the people, drooling over the artistry that abounds there.
I still remember watching the artists hand blowing spheres and tumblers, and so many objects. From clear glass to blues and reds and yellows. And as I type this I wish I could go visit once again. I miss it. But I digress…
I have always wanted to have my very own set of handblown tumblers, ever since I was a little girl. So the moment I saw them on Novica I had to have them. And I am happy I have them. They just remind me of home, of my culture, and what molded me.
What I also love is that every single piece is delicately made by the artists.
The love and dedication put into every single piece makes these tumblers even more special. Even though it might get monotonous to make the same shape day in and day out (although Javier and Efren also create other items like margarita glasses and pitchers), the artists put all their imagination into every piece. And have you seen the process?! It is amazing and hypnotizing.
Soon I will get a pitcher, in cobalt and from Novica, of course. And then I will also get a Talavera pot…or maybe 3 or 5. I really want to bring more of my hometown into my home. And Novica will make this possible…unless I get to go back home anytime soon, which I doubt.
