My Happy Songs

There are the sad songs for when you feel sad. Because, you know, we love to torture ourselves. My to go to, torture-your-self, choice is Westlife. They are cut-your-wrists-with-a-spoon kind of sad. Take for instance: Fool Again, I Don’t Want to Fight, If I Let You Go. Man, even the song titles are depressing.

And of course we all have our Happy Songs!! Those that are so cheesy and sappy and straight out make you a wag your butt like a 2 month old puppy with a new toy!

My Happy Songs

Happy songs are many. And I honestly could bore you to death with my happy tunes….so bare with me. I will try to give you at least 5?

As I wrote down my favorites (with the help of Spotify and lots of British music -I seriously have a thing for the UK).

Robbie Williams – Mack The Knife

Love, love, love Robbie Williams’ version of Mack The Knife. He just puts so much life to it.

That’s reason enough….right?!

Five – If Ya Gettin’ Down

This song takes me back to 7th grade. I can still remember being at my best friend’s house trying to learn the dance moves to the song. Of course we sucked at it, big time But we had so much fun! Even now I try to dance to their moves…and I can still not do it. I am pretty sure that I look quite ridiculous.

Queen – We Will Rock You

And practically anything Queen realted (even Bicycle Race). They are just so cool. But the reason why We Will Rock You will always be one of my top favorites is because back in Elementary, 4th grade if I remember correctly, every time the teach would leave the classroom we would start singing to the top of our lungs “we hate, we hate, math class!”

Oh it was so much fun! We did it so many times that at a point the teacher didn’t even care.

Plus, A. loves this song now.

Neil Diamond – Red Wine (Live, ft UB40)

Epic song from my childhood. Became my favorite the year my dad turned 40 (for some reason I thought that it was a song about turning 40). Every time I hear this song I cannot help but smile because it remind me of my dad so, so much.

Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out

Great pick me up while getting ready to go and about, specially a night out on the town.

Which are your HAPPY SONGS?

I LOVE listening to happy songs and there are so many that I enjoy. I’m trying to think of a couple to list, but there are so many it’s hard to choose. Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, Life’s a Happy Song from The Muppets (I am such a child, haha) and Karma Chameleon by Culture Club just to name a few, but there are so many more. Now I feel like listening to music, haha.

I like to listen to the oldies or songs from the 70’s or even some 80’s music. Anything that’s upbeat and gets me up and shaking my booty.

I haven’t heard a lot of these songs in such a long time! Queen is a great one because it is one everyone has heard.
I have a lot of happy songs but have to be in the mood for a certain song on that certain happy day, yeah, it’s weird(:

Mockingbird by Carly Simon and James Taylor is another one.

These are some great choices — “Mack the Knife” is a dark song, but so upbeat you can’t help but dance. I also like “Walkin’ on Sunshine, “and often lots of great eighties songs like “Come on Eileen.” Great post!
