Cat’urdays with O’Malley and the Dryer

Having a cat has taught me a lot of things, like the fact that cats are nocturnal -never crossed my mind. Or that they descend from desert felines hence why they need fresh water at all times. Or how to properly clip their claws.

Cat'urdays with O'MalleyBut the most frightening thing I have learned is that my cat, O’Malley, loves my dryer. As in, he loves to go snuggle inside of it. I guess it is due to cats loving to be warm. But, really?!

Cat'urdays with O'Malley Cat'urdays with O'Malley O’Malley was 2 months old when he decided to jump into the dryer for the first time. At first I think it was due to his active curiosity (that and being in a new environment). I let him stay there for a bit while I snapped some photos and he sniffed and stretched and tried to snuggle (which was funny on its own since he would slide all over the place).

Ever since this day I have to be super careful when I do the laundry. You know, because I didn’t hate doing the laundry before, now I have to make sure I don’t trap my cat in there.

Now every time O’Malley decides to go hide or take off and I cannot find him my first place to look is the dryer. Now imagine the feeling when my dryer is on and I cannot find him! Yeah….this cat is going to give me a heart attack one of these days.

Which is the oddest place you’ve found your pet (cat/dog) in?

I found my kittens in the dryer once, only it was on and my 4 year old had put them in there! Luckily it was just for a mere second as I was right around the corner when she did it.

Your kitty is so cute! Playing in the dryer looks like a fun thing to do when you’re so little and cute! Makes me miss my kitties growing up…

One of our current cats likes to curl up in the sink, so that’s probably the oddest place. I’ve had cats since I was a toddler, so I’ve always been conscious of keeping cupboards, dryers, washing machine, closets, etc. shut, because I know they’ll go in there otherwise.

So cute! I miss having cats. Ours used to climb into our dresser drawers without us knowing it. I was startling to open us a drawer to get some clothes, and find two kittens in there!

What a cutie. Hopefully you have kids and they taught you to check the dryer before you use it already! We have a cat that had kittens and they keep hiding in my husbands engine. They are wild or they would be inside. My husband is good about it and check daily before he starts his car.

Baby hides in all sorts of places and if she does not want to be found——I just have to wait it out–she sneaks into every closet and if she could manage it into every drawer!! Yes, I did shut her into the kitchen pantry once-I did not see her walk in–she calmly scratched at the door when she was finished snooping around in there!!

First, your cat is adorable! Oh my gosh! We had a kitten once that loved the dryer. one of my cats this days loves to sleep in dresser drawers. there have been times I’ve come home to find what looks like a ransacked house, but really, it was just Crocker looking for the perfect spot!

O’Malley, love the name, has the same tiger stripe markings as Mr. Whiskers,He’s 6 months old now and such an adolescent. Surfing the walls. Sucking on a blankie. I get your scary. I can’t take my baby in a stroller near water. Caturday has my thumbs up sister.

My cat Punkin used to love getting in our dryer every time I opened it to fold the clothes. I would stand at the dryer and fold them on top of the washer and talk to him. I used to tell him that he just liked to help fold clothes but I guess maybe you are right and it’s the warmth of the dryer. Here all along I thought he just liked spending quality time with me. lol

Looks adorable of him inside the dryer but at the same time scary it’s better to double check the dyer first before using it.

My neighbors cat recently went 15 minutes in a hot dryer … $1.2 to rehydrate him with an iv. Then a month later her husband backed over him in the driveway … those nine lives are not all they are cracked up to be.
