Zazoo Kids Photo Clock

My boys have been early birds since day one. For them being an early bird means waking up as early as 5 am. There have even been instances where they thought getting up at 4 in the morning was their best idea ever. We have tried it all: from not letting them get out of their beds until 6am, sending them to bed later, etc. But it just doesn’t seem to work. They can go to bed at 9 at night and still wake up 5 am the next morning. It wasn’t until a few weeks back that I heard about the Zazoo Kids Photo Clock which is a great way to sleep train kids. So, we’ve tried it all, why not try to sleep train once more, right?!

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock - Parts The Zazoo Kids Photo Clock  is a clock, an alarm, a digital photo frame, and a video screen all rolled into one great gadget.

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock - REMOTE!!And you might find it odd but I was so happy to see it included a remote! That way it only take one single button to get things done rather than having to press multiple on the back of the frame (for when, you know, your kids either lose or hide the remote).

Back controlsThe back of the frame has its own controls, USB port, Memory Card slot, headphone slot, as well as a USB for cables (what is their technical name?). I love that all these features are built in the back, this way cables, USBs and memory cards are safely hidden from prying hands.

Zazoo Kids Photo ClockAs soon as we received our photo clock, to help with writing this review, we immediately got to work and assembled the clock. This was extremely easy since all there is to it is plugging it and presto!

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock – Photo Frame

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock Zazoo Kids Photo Clock - Photos Central Zazoo Kids Photo Clock - Photo Frame We have not used the Zazoo Kids Photo Clock as a video screen since I really don’t have a way to pass the videos from my phone to the frame. But we have definitely tried it out as a photo frame. Although the image is not very bright and a bit grainy, I love it! I can decorate my boys’ room with a digital frame that not only works as their alarm but that is fun to look at, plus, the fish theme we received is so cool!

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock – Sleep Training

Zazoo Kids Photo ClockWe soon began our sleep training with setting up our alarm. I was too ambitious and set up their waking time to 6:30am, one can only wish, right? You can chose between waking up to photos or music, so we decided the latter.

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock Talking about music, the Zazoo Kids Photo Clock comes with a few songs your kids can dance around to! They are fun and quite catchy.

Zazoo Kids Photo Clock When we received the photo clock my boys were quite excited about it, it might have been that they finally got something in the mai. But I was glad to have them on board for our sleep training. The first night we gave it a try I went through some rules with them:

  • You can only get out of your room once the alarm goes off.
  • If you wake up before them, please stay in your room.

Pretty simple, right? Well, Day 1 did not go so well. They completely ignored the rules and came downstairs around 5 in the morning. A. insisted that the alarm clock was broken because the song never played. Day 2, they finally stayed in their room. Of course they played in their room. And by play I mean jumping on their beds, playing with their hammers and banging on their end table.

Even though the Zazoo Kids Photo Clock is a great gadget and tool to help your “bad” sleeper get a better night’s sleep it did not work for us. We tried the clock for 2 weeks and they still woke up around 5 and they still stayed in their room while  having wrestling battles.  It did not work for us, but that doesn’t mean it will not work for you!

My boys love their clock. They are now, thanks to it, learning to read the time (which also helps loads with their numbers). So, even though my boys did not care about the alarm feature, it is well worth the money and time put into it. Hey, it might just work for you!

I like that there are many other features–one is bound to work out of them all—my son is like me and we are both up at the crack of dawn-It might work for him as there is nobody else in his room to rough house with.

Cute idea, my youngest uses a watch now to help her tell time and not to ask us a million times what time it is!

We have family spread across the state and the country. One of the ways we keep in touch is through sending pictures. My daughter loves to send and receive so this would be perfect for her.

This is a great idea, not sure if it would work for mine because even though they still get up at the crack of dawn they do stay quiet

I wish my kids are like that too. We all love to sleep in and sometimes kids are late to school because we all woke up late too. This is one nice gadget.

Oh, what a neat device. I think I need this for my eldest. My boys sleep at around 9pm, the youngest rises up early with me, while the school boy wakes up late. This is a good way to wake him up! Thanks for sharing!

I like the idea of all the gadgets in one device. On the bright side, even though your children woke up, they did stay in their room.

It sounds like such a cute idea, sorry it did not work out for you. My boys sleep in all the time so my issue is getting them out of bed. I am up at 5 to work so I need them to sleep!

Oh my! This looks and sounds like an awesome one to have. I mean, my kids are great sleeper, but I need a fun clock for my little man to wake up in the morning an won’t be late for school. Although I never have problems with him being late for school, but it would be nice if he wakes up a little bit earlier so he can have breakfast. Man! Your kids are early birds alright. Thanks for sharing this one!

My daughter gets up with the sun! It doesn’t matter if the sun wakes up at 5:00 or 7:00. The moment it breaks the horizon, she’s up. We’ve tried hanging navy flannel sheets over her window. No luck. I’m sure she’d be like your boys, happy to have the clock, but unwilling to sleep just because the clock says it’s not time to get up. In her mind sunshine = wake up. End. Of. Story!
