PUR GumI have never been a huge gum consumer. I do like chewing on gum, it somehow calms my anxiety (when it presents itself), but I don’t consume (chew) gum on a daily basis. I am very picky on what gum I put in my mouth. I always look for a sugar-free or low sugar gum to keep my teeth healthy. Some gum just tastes as if you were rubbing sugar all over your mouth. I do not have cavities and plan on keeping it that way. And now, thanks to PUR Gum, I can keep cavity friendly bacteria away from my teeth.

I was given the opportunity of trying PUR Gum. I received their 4 flavors: wintergreen, pomegranate mint, spearmint, and (the very absent from these pictures) peppermint.

PUR GumPUR Gum was born back in 2010 in the most wonderful of countries: Switzerland (yeah, I do not want to visit that city at all, hehehe). But this is not the only thing that makes PUR Gum amazing (in my eyes, at least). They also get extra brownie point for making a gum that is free of chemicals and artificial sweeteners.

PUR Gum Ingredients:

  • Xylitol: is a sweet-tasting crystalline alcohol derived from xylose, present in some plant tissues (like berries, oats, and mushrooms) and used as an artificial sweetener in foods.
  • Gum base
  • Natural flavors
  • Gum arabic
  • Carnauba wax: this makes PUR Gum vegan-friendly. Other gum companies use beexwax or gelatins as their base which makes it non-vegan as it contains animal ingredients.
  • Tocopherols

This gum is also nut free, gluten free, contains no GMOs and is diabetic friendly!

PUR Gum

PUR Gum Benefits

  • Natural Ingredients
  • Helps prevent tooth decay: acid producing bacteria found in our mouths cannot digest Xylitol, therefore the ph levels in our mouth stays neutral. Bacteria will not stick to the surface of our teeth and cause cavities.
  • Low glycemic index of 7this alone make PUR gum great for diabetics.

PUR Gum I must say that I am now a big fan of PUR Gum, not a biased opinion, promise. See, PUR Gum has no aspartame which has been linked to cancer, diabetes, psychological disorders, birth defects, visual problems, as well as brain damage and seizures. Of course, there has been a great debate on whether this is true or not. Either way, I am one to think better safe than sorry. So whether aspartame causes cancer or seizures I am staying away from it.

So, if you are looking for aspartame free gum look no further: PUR Gum is here!

I need to keep an eye out for pure gum. My dentist was telling me about xylitol and to try and get gum with it.

I used to love gums when I was little, but as I gotten older I don’t like gums or candies anymore. Except Chocolate! Anyway, never tried this gum before and I love how it is naturally sweetened. Aspartame is a NO NO.
