Golden Globes 2014: Worst & Best Dressed

Last year I made an installment of the worst and best dressed at The Oscars. And with the Golden Globes being live on Sunday I decided to do the same. Yeah, a day too late, but hey! Hehehe…

Once again I did not watch the award show since the Broncos were playing. Hey, priorities! Anywho, here are my worst and best dressed!! Or like others say: best and worst dressed:

Golden Globes: Best Dressed

Best Dressed - Lupita Nyong'oLupita Nyong’o is pure perfection all rolled into one in this beautiful Ralph Lauren dress. The color of this dress is gorgeous and looks quite vibrant against her beautiful skin. Her makeup is flawless. And I love that she went light with her accessories. Plus, if all of this was not enough, the darn dress has a cape!

Best Dressed - Olivia WildeOlivia Wilde in Gucci. She looks stunning! First of all the color suited her perfectly making her eyes pop. The dress fits her perfectly. And look at that belly! Love her hair (thinking on getting something like it). She definitely killed it in this full-sequin ensemble. Oh, and may I remind us all: she is wearing like 5″ heels! Wish I could walk on anything higher than 2″…

Best Dressed - Emilia ClarkeEmilia Clarke in Proenza Schouler. Love the simplicity of the silhouette. Even with minimal details this dress is sure to catch everyone’s eyes. It might be due to the tiny polka dots (bubbles, maybe?), but the pattern of the fabric is mesmerizing yet it doesn’t take your focus away from the dress.

Golden Globes: Worst Dressed

Worst Dressed - Zoe SaldanaZoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung. It might be due to the fact that I know very little about fashion (haute couture), but this dress is ugly. It is a mashup of fabrics that make me feel like this dress was put together last minute. Of course not, it was in the runway and blah blah blah…it just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe, if it would have been all black with the applique, now that would have been an awesome dress.

Worst Dressed - Hayden PanettiereHayden Panettiere in Tom Ford. No. Just No. This dress just doesn’t do it for me. It looks so 90s. And the hair doesn’t help at all! A wavy bob or updo would have made this dress a bit better. Just a tiny bit.

Worst Dressed - Berenice BejoBerenice Bejo in Giambattista Valli. This dress is so ill-fitting. The top, or jacket, is too much: too big, too ruffle-y, too just-no. This is the kind of dress that doesn’t translate well outside of the runway. I do like the skirt on Berenice better than the original sheer skirt. Still…there were quite a few other dresses that she could have chosen from GV’s collection.

I did not watch the Golden Globe, but I do agree with the choices you posted. The top three are gorgeous, the bottom three not so much..

Oh my gosh! I almost didn’t recognize Emilia Clarke with her dark hair! Totally different! She didn’t looks good as a blonde. Olivia Wilde is always so pretty. She makes me jealous.

Emilia Clarke wears a wig on Game of Thrones…and I agree, she looks better as a brunette!

I don’t watch award shows, but I always like to read articles about those outfits. Sometimes I wonder…don’t these people have mirrors?

I agree, Lupita for best dressed. I also loved Monica Potter’s look. I thought Zoe and Sandra Bullock for worst dressed.

For the most part, I agree with you. I’m not crazy about Olivia Wilde’s dress, but I love the color of it. And I actually really love Hayden’s dress—but agree with you on her hair. I think she should have done a high, sleek ponytail or a chignon.

I so agree about the ill fitting dress. First of all what woman wants to make her hips look BIGGER? and also you have a stylist. Were they on drugs when they put you in this dress that does not fit? Get the thing altered if it doesnt fit.

OK, sometimes I wonder if the ones on the worst dressed list actually picked out their own clothes or if they were contracted to wear them> Cause really…who would actually WANT to wear those dresses? I just look at them and go, “Uhm….NO.”
