Last year I made an installment of the worst and best dressed at The Oscars. And with the Golden Globes being live on Sunday I decided to do the same. Yeah, a day too late, but hey! Hehehe…
Once again I did not watch the award show since the Broncos were playing. Hey, priorities! Anywho, here are my worst and best dressed!! Or like others say: best and worst dressed:
Golden Globes: Best Dressed
Lupita Nyong’o is pure perfection all rolled into one in this beautiful Ralph Lauren dress. The color of this dress is gorgeous and looks quite vibrant against her beautiful skin. Her makeup is flawless. And I love that she went light with her accessories. Plus, if all of this was not enough, the darn dress has a cape!
Olivia Wilde in Gucci. She looks stunning! First of all the color suited her perfectly making her eyes pop. The dress fits her perfectly. And look at that belly! Love her hair (thinking on getting something like it). She definitely killed it in this full-sequin ensemble. Oh, and may I remind us all: she is wearing like 5″ heels! Wish I could walk on anything higher than 2″…
Emilia Clarke in Proenza Schouler. Love the simplicity of the silhouette. Even with minimal details this dress is sure to catch everyone’s eyes. It might be due to the tiny polka dots (bubbles, maybe?), but the pattern of the fabric is mesmerizing yet it doesn’t take your focus away from the dress.
Golden Globes: Worst Dressed
Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung. It might be due to the fact that I know very little about fashion (haute couture), but this dress is ugly. It is a mashup of fabrics that make me feel like this dress was put together last minute. Of course not, it was in the runway and blah blah blah…it just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe, if it would have been all black with the applique, now that would have been an awesome dress.
Hayden Panettiere in Tom Ford. No. Just No. This dress just doesn’t do it for me. It looks so 90s. And the hair doesn’t help at all! A wavy bob or updo would have made this dress a bit better. Just a tiny bit.
Berenice Bejo in Giambattista Valli. This dress is so ill-fitting. The top, or jacket, is too much: too big, too ruffle-y, too just-no. This is the kind of dress that doesn’t translate well outside of the runway. I do like the skirt on Berenice better than the original sheer skirt. Still…there were quite a few other dresses that she could have chosen from GV’s collection.
