Finally got our snow!

Bellingham is not known for being a snowy city. Yes, it is at the north point of WA but we rarely get snow thanks to the Cascades which keep the snow clouds at bay (East). On very rare occasions snow clouds make it through the Cascades and it snows, just like it did this past weekend.

We finally got our snow!

{From PDX with Love} Got our Snow!!We woke up on Saturday with snow on the ground, just a little bit to nicely dust the grown. But it never stopped.

A few inches later and the boys were out on the backyard making snowballs and throwing them at the windows. You know, snowballs make a deliciously nice thunk when you throw it at glass. *Thunk.

Mater was covered in white. Buckets were filled. And toes soon became numb.

It was coming down hard so the boys didn’t stay out for too long…but we got our snow!

The boys also went sledding. I tagged along for archiving purposes. Somebody has to snap some pictures, right?

I don’t have anything against sledding….but you just can’t sled with or without eyeglasses.

{From PDX with Love} Got our Snow!! {From PDX with Love} Got our Snow!! {From PDX with Love} Got our Snow!! {From PDX with Love} Got our Snow!! I don’t know who enjoyed our Winter Wonderland the most: the boys or my husband. But oh, did we have FUN!

How was your weekend?!

Looks like you had great fun! Our snow didn’t last long, so we certainly enjoyed it while it was here. Hoping for signs of spring, soon, though!

YAY for you! Snow. YAY for me — NO SNOW!
Keeping with the mountain theme… Raleigh got hammered by snow two weeks ago when the Appalachians trapped the cold air coming down from the north, called Cold Air Damming. Moisture blew in from the Atlantic. The cold air and moisture mixed… and we got snow.

But this past weekend, the warm air blew up from the south, and we enjoyed bright Carolina blue skies, temperatures in the low 70s, and yard work. It felt great to get outside — without a coat!

While I’d gladly kick this winter to the curb after the ridiculous amount of snowfall we’ve had, I’m happy to see you enjoying it. We always feel this way when the first snow falls too.

I think if we didn’t have so much of it, I could get excited about a snow storm. We have far too much and it is far too cold. lol. But it does have it’s beauty. I love it for Christmas Day for sure. Congrats on finally getting your snow. Now come take the rest of mine. lol.

NO MORE SNOW! We’ve had enough here in Iowa and I don’t want any more. If it was a puffy snow with warm weather it would be great but sub zero windchill has made it horrible this winter. I’ll gladly ship snow to anyone who packages up some sunshine and sends to us. :)

I’m getting ready for a big move from Chicago to Kansas! It’s been SNOWY and cold here, so we’ve had plenty of that terrible white stuff lol. We moved our first load down to Kansas this weekend and are finishing up next week!

Part of me really wished we got some snow, but I have a feeling it would get old very quickly. Plus I’m a total wimp in the cold so I wouldn’t last long in it!

Is it a bit silly that I’m dreaming of snow? I know I probably wouldn’t really like it much if I was around it, but being in Phoenix it sounds FUN! I love sledding!
