With two picky eaters who are not too eager to try new things finding new meals or snacks to eat it a tough feat. A. is getting a bit better. Instead of throwing a tantrum because how dare I ask him to try something new he just informs me that his brain told him he doesn’t like it, even when he has no idea what it is. He just knows. J., on the other hand, still does not like trying new things. You’d think I was asking him to eat a fat and juicy slug by the way he reacts.
Tillamook Greek Yogurt: Simply Amazing
Yogurt used to be my go-to breakfast when I’d be running late for school. It is simple and healthy. Back then I’d eat the plain yogurt with a teaspoon of sugar. It wasn’t until a few years back that I got to try Greek yogurt, and man was I missing out, not only is delicious but it also is super healthy!
We don’t buy Greek yogurt at home because, apparently, I am the only one at home that likes it. But after trying Tillamook’s Farmstyle Greek yogurt this has changed.
- Grade A Pasteurized Fat Free Milk,
- Live And Active Yogurt Cultures:
- S.Thermophilus. L.
- B. Lactis,
All for a whopping 130 (give or take 5 depending on flavor), zero calories from fat. Each serving will give you at least 14 grams of protein, great for picky eaters who are self-professed vegetarians (aka my 4 year old son who refuses to eat meat and would much rather store it in his mouth as if we cannot see the chubby cheeks which makes him look like a chipmunk).
I love plain yogurt because of it versatility. You can eat it straight from the tub, add granola or chocolate chips; you can even use it to cook (recipes). I have never truly liked flavored yogurt. For some reason I just don’t like having tiny chunks of fruit in my yogurt (I’m an odd one). When I saw that Tillamook had 7 different flavored Greek Yogurt I immediately thought of J. Being the fruit lover that he is he would be all over them. And I was right. Okay, sort of.
He chose to try the Blueberry Greek Yogurt. He liked the flavor but not the creaminess of it. This boy is all about textures, and if something doesn’t feel well then he will refuse to eat it.
Not everyone likes the thickness of Greek yogurt, but that is the exact reason why I love it so much. It is rich, and filling, and delicious. After trying the Blueberry flavor J. refused to try anything else. The flavor was there for him, just not so much the texture.
A. refused to try any of the fruit flavored yogurt. He is like me, not a big fan of fruit in our yogurt. He got to try the vanilla yogurt and he liked, just not as much as his regular vanilla yogurt. So, we decided to compromise: he’d eat the plain yogurt if I added some chocolate chips to it. Man, was that just like frozen yogurt! Just a little bit better 🙂
- Plain (2% and 0%)
- Cinnamon Hazelnut
- Coffehouse Blend
- Honey Peach
- Old Fashioned Vanilla
- Oregon Blueberry
- Oregon Strawberry
- Washington Raspberry
I got to try every single one of the flavors. Although I did not care for the 0% Plain yogurt I must say that I loved every single one of the flavors. My favorite? Some might think the Coffeehouse Blend was it, don’t get me wrong it was amazing and quite ingenious, but I loved the Honey Peach the best! The mix of flavors was amazing! The texture just perfect.
