We love pizzas at home, or as A calls them Pizzi! I remember the day when Ty tried to make pizza from scratch. He set himself to work on the pizza around 2 in the afternoon. He made pizza dough for the entire community! I swear we could have made around 6 pizzas with it! And the mess…well, the mess was grand and for me to clean…

Now not only have I found a better recipe but we have our own Emile Henry Pizza Stone!! Yei-yeah!

Founded in 1850, and located in Marcigny, a small town in the province of Burgundy, France, Emile Henry has established a worldwide reputation for manufacturing the finest quality ceramic ovenware, gourmet cooking products, and bakeware products. Still owned and operated by the Henry family, the company today manufactures all of their new cooking products from Burgundy clay using their proprietary Ceradon® state-of-the-art manufacturing process.

I have never ever before cooked baked with a pizza stone. I am honestly not much of a cook…But I am seriously in love with my pizza stone, so much that we had pizza twice in one week! And I made it from scratch (except the sauce which Ty made) and I am so proud of my self, hehehe!
Pizza Stone, FigueThe Pizza Stone is made of all natural materials and is manufactured using Emile Henry’s proprietary Flame® technology. The glaze is micro-crazed contributing to crispy well-baked crusts, just like a pizza oven. If the Pizza Stone is used on the stovetop, heat slowly and place on the largest burner. You can cut directly on the glazed pizza stone without damaging or scratching the surface. The Pizza Stone is easy to clean with soap and water and is dishwasher safe.

It can withstand high oven temperatures. when you take it out of the oven make sure to put it either on a rag or a wooden cutting board and not on any cold surfaces, like the counter. This is to avoid any breakage.

The first time I made a pizza using the pizza stone I sprayed PAM on it and when the pizza was done it slid all over the place. The second time I did not sprayed and the pizza got a bit stuck to the stone, but it was mostly the melted cheese. So I’d say to spray a bit to make the cleaning easier. And talking about cleaning, The Pizza Stone is dishwasher safe!

This was my first try at pizza making! what do you think?

My favorite  features have to be the handles, for easy transport,  and the fact that the Pizza Stone absorbs moisture from the pizza dough while it cooks, making the crust crispy.

I truly recommend giving Emile Henry Pizza Stone a try. It only costs $50 but you won’t regret it, honest!
