3 years ago, my daughter and I started realizing how plastic affect the environment and how much we were using and throwing away, we decided that something needed to be done and we needed an alternative to plastic baggies. I wanted to create a bag that was safe, reusable, convenient, easy to care for, could hold wet snacks and would keep the items fresh for over 24 hours so I could pack lunches the night before.
After much research and testing for a safe lining and a lining that performed the way I needed it to, I discovered nylon and peva fabric.
The Greentime reusable snack and sandwich bags were created.”

Unconsciously I am becoming more and more green oriented. I do whatever I can to help the environment, anything from recycling to using less plastic bags and, instead, using reusable bags. And when I was given the opportunity of reviewing GreenTime Bags I could not pass it by.
I received both a sandwich bag and a snack bag in a colorful rectangle pattern, which is simply so awesome! Both bags have a 100% cotton (or nylon) exterior and are lined with nylon and peva fabric.
But, what is peva? Peva is a chlorine-free substitute for plastics made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride, often simply called “vinyl”) that is considered less harmful.
One of these bags is designed to replace 1000’s of plastic bags! Imagine the amount of plastic bags replaced if every single person in the US has one GreenTime Bag!
I really enjoy using my bags since they are so versatile. Not only can I carry snacks or fruit in them but I can also give them other uses like a wallet or to carry your phone in. Snack carrier by day, wallet by night! Or I might just be crazy…
Something else I really like is how easy their are to clean. Simply turn it inside out, shake out the crumbs and wipe with a wet rag. On those sticky situations, which we can blame it on the PB&J, you can throw your bag in the washer or hand wash it! When you machine wash them, make sure the velcro is attached so that it won’t pull on your other clothes. A good tip is to use a mesh bag to keep them together in the washer, which reminds me I have to get a new mesh bag so I’ll stop loosing socks!
Do not iron and do not put them in the dryer!
I wish there would have been this kind of sandwich bags back when I was a little girl! My dad used to wrap our sandwiches in a paper napkin and sometimes crumbs and mayo got all over my backpack!! I guess my kids have it better with their new GreenTime Bags!
