Hiking @ Macleay Trails - From PDX with Love

Hiking @ Macleay Trails

Yesterday was simply beautiful, gorgeous and amazing. The sun finally came out and the wind settled down a bit so we decided to take the boys on a hike. And man did we had a blast! And let me tell you, that was quite a workout!! But well worth it!

We chose the Macleay Trail which, from start to beginning, goes for 4.57 miles. We got there around 3.30 and came back around 5.30. Like any good excursion we were all set in pairs: Daddy & J., Uncle and A, and mommy & Scratch. he started on a leash but he wanted to run around so bad and was getting between our legs and almost pushing us off the trail that we decided to let him go and run. He is such a good boy though! Every so often he’d stop and look back to make sure we were all there! And he had such a huge smile!!

The trails are stunning and beautiful. J. got to walk with us here and there but was mostly carried since he still has little legs who can’t go too fast. But every time he got a chance to walk around he loved it! And of course he never let go of the cookie he had in hand…and he didn’t eat it either! Funny boy.

I am really going to miss Oregon’s greenery. Colorado is so brown…and even though they are so outdoorsy and love to bike and hike, I hope their trails are as lush and green and beautiful as here in Oregon.

On our way up the trail we found out that the Pittock Mansion was on top of the hill so, of course, we had to check it out!! Bad thing was…it was closed. I guess that’s what happens on sunny Sundays, people go out and get some vitamin D!

{I posted more photos to both my Facebook and Flickr accounts!!

How was your weekend?! What did you guys do!?

Looks like you had so much fun. My weekend was taking my time washing my car and vcumning. I used Prosolved carpet spray and it cleaned out the stianed and salt beautiful. The car smells, so fresh and new. We racked our lawn and went for a 45 minute walk. It rained on sunday so we decided to grab some books and read.

Beautiful photos! I’ve lived in both Oregon and Colorado and I promise even with out the lush green, Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world!
