French-Israeli singer-songwriter, Yael Naim has just released her second album: She Was a Boy. Described by the Boston Globe as having a “warm, winsome voice,” She Was a Boy was recorded with Donatien in a Paris. The new album offers several collaborations with musicians including famed French jazz trumpeters Lionel and Stephane Belmondo, cellist Yoed Nir (Interpol, Regina Spektor and Rufus Wainwright), classical musician Thomas Bloch (Radiohead, John Cage, Damon Albarn/Gorillaz) and the French artist Tété.

And I am pretty sure you still have no clue who Yael Naim is, huh? Well…take 30 seconds to listen to this…then you’ll know who we are talking about!!

 

 

Yup, that’s Yael Naim and her song ‘New Soul’ from her first album. So if you liked it you are surely going to love her new album. Her voice is amazing and so warm. It is nice to hear voices like her and not so much of the nowadays auto tuned music out there. Could name a few but the list would be never ending!

My favorite track in her album has to be ‘Come Home’…for some reason, every time I listen to this song, I picture silent movies in my head. Of course, in black and white.

 

 

Truly love her CD. I am now contemplating on getting her first album ;)
