Go figure…

Of all the place you could ever take a nap at our place the boys chose:

…the balcony!

Huh?! Why the balcony?!

One thing was for sure, they thought they were very clever!

A. was the one who started it. He grabbed his pillow, blankie and T.D. (teddy). Soon J. followed by asking me to help him find a blanket.

I am daily amazed by the creativity, imagination and ingenuity of little genius minds!

I went rock climbing and learned…

The very first thing we did when we got to Denver, and by this I mean the day after, Grandma took us to the coolest gym ever, Lifetime Fitness, and after our tour we signed up.

Tuesday we all went to the gym to go Rock Climbing. At first I was very excited about climbing. I remember being younger and repelling a huge rock back home. I didn;t climb it per se, we simply went all the way up through the cracks while supervised by adults. So when I was at the gym I thought I could do it with ease.

But, man, was I wrong.

Geared up and everything, I went up and thought I would be all the way to the top in no time.

The grips started getting harder to hold on to. I hit the spot where you had to decide whether to go left or right, so I took the right path…two grips latter I found myself half way up the wall and I didn’t know what to do.

I started panicing.

And then the biggest whoops, I looked down.

I found myself 7ft from the ground.

I froze.

Panic grew stronger.

Tyler and Grandma told me to keep going. That I could do it. But I simply replied with freaked out tone and an ‘I can’t’.

“Let go.”

Let go?! Seriously?! I was freaking out. I almost started crying. But then I heard a “you will be OK.”

So I trusted them. I closed my eyes and let go.

Once on the ground I couldn’t help it but cry. I was so shaky, so scared.

It was then that it hit me: I am scared of heights.

I tried that same run, which just so happened to be one of the hardest run at the gym, just one more time to prove to myself that I can handle my fear.

And I did. I went all the way up. I would have to stop and get myself together a few times but I did it. I went up 14 ft. By myself. All while freaking out.

Tuesday evening I learned a new thing about myself. But I didn’t let it define me.

Which would you say is your greatest fear? How have you beaten it?

Things I learned this week

  • You can get cuts out of the blues…I have two to prove!
  • The same applies for bruises…I think mine was due to a toy hammer…not sure though.
  • Satin sheets suck! If you jump on bed on your belly you will surely slide across the bed! And the pillows…drives me nuts! They slide all over and you wake up pillowless…argh
  • I can’t stand any Adam Sandler movies.
  • Potty training takes its time. It is a new thing for little kids. And mommies often get peed on…
  • Little brothers imitate whatever big brothers do…now I have two little boys standing on my drawer handles trying to get to the M&M’s!
  • J. has a very bad temper…just like mommy…oops!
  • If J. is mad, don’t look at him or his temper will get worse…
  • It is funner to download and decorate houses than to actually play The Sims 2…guilty!
  • We are moving to Colorado by the end of June!
  • I can now apply to become an US citizen! So excited!!

  • Wrestling is fun! Ever tried it?
  • Getting a 1 year old jump and sit on your nose hurts a lot! Thanks J.! My nose still hurts!
  • Having your almost 3 year old land on his butt on your chest hurts even more…couldn’t breathe for a bit there!
  • A. is turning THREE in exactly 2 months!! Once again, I can’t breathe!!
  • My boys are awesome.
  • I Love my life. I Love my family.

Things I learned this week

  • Do not try to write a 100+ word email when you really have to pee!! If you have to go, go.
  • Turning off your music while typing your 100+ word email won’t make the need to pee go away!
  • Sour skittles will give you tongue sores! But they are oh so good…
  • Whoppers are awesome!
  • Smuggling candy into the theaters is even better! Muahahaha….(evil laugh)
  • Cars make great forts…specially if said car is made out of cardboard (giveaway here)
  • If I am not hungry I do not like to cook. Meaning, if I am not hungry Tyler has to cook for himself, sorry babe!
  • When I am not hungry and won’t cook I make something super easy for the little ones: fruit, milk and a grilled cheese or some chicken.
  • Apparently Mac & Cheese goes great with ketchup!
  • Little people, aka J., know how to use the computer.
  • A., who’s almost 3, knows how to use my iPhone better than I do!
  • “Scratch, don’t scratch that” even sounds confusing to me…?
  • There are songs that sound better when you blast the volume as high as can go…while wearing your earphones, of course! Examples? ‘Rolling in the deep, by Adele and ‘No you girls’ by Franz Ferdinand!
